HeroZona National Veteran Summit

Arizona is not just military friendly, it is military ready. Over 18,000 active duty service members are stationed in Arizona with almost 15,000 Arizonans serving in the Reserves and 5,000 in the National Guard. To ensure the state remains a leader in quality of life, industry, and education, it must retain top talent for its workforce and provide economic opportunity to military families through meaningful employment and successful entrepreneurship. In order to effectively engage with the military community and further educate local stakeholders, it is imperative to leverage public-private partnerships and focus on grassroots efforts to spark a statewide call to action to ensure our nation’s heroes continue to call Arizona home before, during, and join the more then 640,000 veterans after service.

This two-day event intends to highlight Arizona’s military community and its value to the region; establish working groups for further advancement of initiatives; provide best practices for businesses to engage the military community; move from military friendly to military ready; highlight pathways to career fields and entrepreneurship through education and innovative training programs to build the state’s workforce; connect job seekers with employers; and recognize leaders in the space.

Day 1 will take place at Sheraton Crescent Hotel in Phoenix. This day is geared towards industry leaders, employers and companies that support our veteran community.

Day 2 will take place at Talking Stick Resort Arena in downtown Phoenix. This day is geared for our veteran community, including military spouses. It will provide career & job seekers with with the opportunity to receive training on professional development topics and meet with hiring managers from Arizona’s leading industries through workshops, briefs, and a hiring event.

You should attend day 2 if you are one of the following:

• Career & Job Seeker (veteran and/or spouse)

• Mentors

The workshops offered on day 2 will be focused for our career & job seekers.
